Happy Birthday Cousin Callie!

Callie turned two on June 28th. It's so hard to believe it's been two whole years since this little sprite came into the world! Callie, you are such a spunky, outgoing, sweet, fearless, and beautiful little girl. We love you!

We can't wait till we're big enough to run in the fountain with you, Callie!

Recent Cuteness

Ever since Addison started sucking her thumb in earnest, she has enjoyed tugging on one ear with the hand that isn't in her mouth. In the last week, Addison has really discovered both of her ears, so she is constantly playing with them. Chris got this shot the other night at dinner:

Last night Emily and Addison posed with Dad for their 5 month birthday. I'll have to post those pictures later (since I have yet to post their 4 month photo shoot - it's coming!) But in the meantime, here's a precious smile from Emily:

The Reckers Come to Town

Mark and Laurie came to Denver to visit Allison in June, and so Emily and Addison got to meet their Great Aunt and Uncle!

Love to Daddy

I have a friend who called yesterday to tell me she's pregnant (!! :) !!) and we were talking about whether she was sensing boy or girl. It reminded me of when I was pregnant, before we found out it was going to be two girls. I didn't have a strong sense either way for a long time. We found out by ultrasound at week 18, and I think it was around week 16 that I suddenly had a very strong little girl love coming from my belly towards Chris. It felt very much like little girls were saying "I love you daddy!" whenever I was around Chris.

Cute Summer Looks Thanks to Susan!

In April, Susan came from Fort Collins to visit the girls. Susan is the biggest clothes person I know, and she brought gifts of clothes for Emily and Addison. The clothes she bought were 3 and 3-6 month sizes and perfect for warm weather, so many of our adorable looks this summer have been thanks to Susan!

Tummy Time

About a month ago, tummy time became a lot more fun because the girls began having the upper body strength to keep their heads up off the floor, so laying them on their tummies didn't lead to immediate frustration.

Emily focuses on keeping that head up off the floor.
On Father's Day (the day before this picture was taken), Emily rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time. For a few months, Emily has liked laying on her side, so I'd seen her roll from her back to her side many times. On Father's Day, I was playing with Callie and Lynne yelled, "Emily just rolled!" and I assumed she had rolled onto her side, but no, she had rolled all the way over to her tummy!

Dad gets down on the floor with Addison to cheer her on!
During this tummy time session, Addison rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time. (She had done some rolling at 7 weeks, but most likely it was just due to frustrated momentum.) After rolling once and getting lots of cheers, we placed her on her back and she rolled again! This happened two more times, making a total of four rolls in a night!

Only a few days later, the girls were gaining strength and stamina, and stayed on their tummies long enough to have a little conversation with each other!

Tummy time is so much more enjoyable now, but here's a look back at the beginning. The girls are 7 weeks old in this video:

Father's Day

Here's a picture of Chris with Emily and Addison on Father's Day. Chris wanted to make sure the girls were in the same arms that they were in when this picture was taken, when they were only 2 weeks old.

We celebrated Father's Day all weekend by spending lots of quality time together as a family. Most of the weekend, we just hung out at home with the girls, and on Sunday we headed up to my dad's house in the mountains.

We had brunch out on the deck, under the awning that I got for Mother's Day!

The Traveling Peas

The peas are taking a trip.
100 lira to the first person to guess where they're going!

Big Girl Baths

Last month, the girls got too big for the little hammock that came with their baby bathtub, so out came the hammock, and now they sit in their little tub for their baths!

These Girls Love Being Outside

It's funny looking back on these pictures, even though they're only a month old, the girls have changed so much. For one thing, I wouldn't be able to leave them on a park bench like this anymore, as they (especially Addison) are rolling all over the place now.

Enslea joins in the picture with a little help from Mom :)

We love laying on your soft fluffy blanket, Karen! :)
