September Elizabeth

Well hello there! 

I started doing lots of new things in September, wanna see? 

Dad put me in the deck hole. Haha! I'm in a hole!

I started doing that cute thing babies do where they lay on their back and grab their toes.
Mom tried to get pictures, but I just wanted to be on my tummy!

 

Alright, I did lay on my back a bit, too, but I wasn't in the mood to grab my feet.

But then a few days later she caught me in my crib!

Aren't I a precious sleeping angel?

Daddy let me stand all by myself by the coffee table. I was SO excited!

I learned to sit all by myself. I like the view from this position!

I got to try my first solid food.
Mom made me sweet potatoes, and she and Dad fed me for the first time on my six-month birthday.

I really like to hold onto the spoon all by myself.

 

After those potatoes, I needed a bath. I've got a pretty cute baby bum, don't you think?

Mom gets to see this face every night before bed. Isn't she lucky?

I mean, really, I'm just pretty cute.

I love feeling the grass on my toes. And check it out, one of the first signs of fall...

I got to taste puffs for the first time. I have a pretty good pincer grasp going on here.

Giggling Girls

High Chair Games

In the last few months, the girls have gone from just noticing each other to really interacting and playing with one another. If I'm in the other room and I hear giggling, it's because they've invented some game to play and it's cracking them up. This happens at least once a day, and the sound of their laughter never fails to make me laugh.

Recently, one of their favorite silly games is the high chair game. Whoever gets cleaned up and set down first invariably races over to her sister's high chair to tickle feet and peek up at the still-restrained sister. Sometimes the messy, seated sister will throw scraps down to the clean sister. All of these things bring rounds of giggles from both girls.

November Videos

November was full of firsts, and we caught some of them on video.

Addison has been giggling for months now, and while Emily has been talking up a storm, she's been a late bloomer on the giggles. In November, she started giggling in earnest. Here she is doing a funny cough-laugh while playing with Addie.


The girls started eating more solids in November, and shredded apples and toast sticks became a breakfast staple.


Addison learned how to click her tongue, which became a fun trick for awhile.


The stairs were officially discovered in November, and before we put the gate up, the girls had some fun times playing on the stairs,



Emily has been talking more and more, and in November, one of her favorite phrases was bababa.


Addison started crawling on her knees in November.


The girls got their first experience with putting up Christmas lights. Most years, Chris really goes to town...the front tree, bushes, two trees out back. This year, he started...and ended... with the icicle lights along the porch. It was a crazy, busy time of year, and I was proud of him for getting any lights out there at all.
