Game Time!

Our third game was agains the Roadrunners. DeeDee came to watch with Callie and Annie, and Emily and Addie were super excited to have a big audience!

Yep, the cheer tunnel is definitely the best part of the game, and when grandmas and cousins are part of the tunnel, they're just that much better!

Trick or Treating

Dee Dee came over, per Halloween tradition, to give out candy while we took the kids trick-or-treating. This year, though, she came dressed as Elmo, which gave everyone a good laugh, and entertained all the kids, young and old, who came to ring the bell for treats. CeeCee and PopPop were in town for trick-or-treating, and they also got dressed up for the occasion: a scary witch and a rocker. Dylan and Britney had other plans this year, so we didn't get to trick-or-treat with Callie and Annie, but hopefully that tradition will continue next year.

An Evening with Dee Dee

Elizabeth spent the last few days in June in the hospital with pneumonia. It was incredibly scary, and it was awful to see her feeling so miserable.

The silver lining is that she and I got to spend a few one-on-one days together at home after we got home from the hospital. Chris and the big girls took the scheduled flight to Michigan, but Elizabeth and I postponed travel for a few days to make sure she was healthy.

We spent the first evening with Dee Dee, and Elizabeth just soaked up all the attention and beamed.

Holidays!

Seeing as I'm about half a year behind on the blog, I'm just going to lump all the holidays that have occurred in the last six months here in this post. I apologize (to those of you who read the blog in real time, and to myself, Chris, and the kids for future reading) for getting so incredibly behind. It's one of those projects that snowballs in its intimidation as time goes on. The more time that passes, the more pictures we take, and the more overwhelming "work on the blog" becomes. It moves to the bottom of the to-do list, because it just seems too daunting. But I'm not ready to give up entirely, so here we go...

Midway through opening presents, Addie thought to go check out Santa's plate, and came running back with it to show us that only a few crumbs were left!

Addie and Emily each got to go to the toystore with me to pick out presents for each other. I took Addie first and she chose the pink unicorn for Emily, and then asked me to make sure that's what Emily got for her, too. When I took Emily shopping, she browsed around for a bit, but eventually landed on the pink unicorn for Addison.
