Bumbos

We have mani/pedi day about once every week or two around here. How do I know it's time for mani/pedi day? Scratches begin appearing on the girls faces and/or Chris and I begin feeling the wrath of the claws.

Ever since the girls were able to sit in their Bumbos, I've used the seats to help keep them still while I clip their nails.

I always give the girls a choice: square or rounded? Long, medium, or short? But no matter what they choose, I always give them the same short rounded look. It's safest.

We had a long winter of mani/pedis inside, which meant some loud and obnoxious dustbusting always followed the clipping. Now that glorious spring has returned, we're able to enjoy our pampering outside once more.

What Is It?

A little puzzle for you to solve...what do you think this is?

Big Hint:
(I challenge you to try to solve the mystery before scrolling down.)

If you guessed a melted jelly window decal, you were right! These went up for the party a month ago, and this pink butterfly was no match for Colorado's blazing sun.

Birthday Party

The girls woke up from their morning nap to an excited Mamma, all ready to get them dressed up for their party.
Addison: Emily, you've got something on your back

Addison: Ummmm, now you've got something on your head
The girls came downstairs to see that the house had been decorated with a colorful butterfly theme.

There were lots of balloons, and they were very fun to play with!

As family started to arrive, we took some group pictures.

Time for CAKE!

After baths, it was time for presents!

Yep, Porter, roll those eyes, Addie is one and she's still eating paper

Woo hoo for microphones!

Give us a beat, Claire!

Can't wait for summer to wear these great hats!

Oooing and ahhhing over Emily and Addison's new chairs

Mason and Vahan stuck around while the girls napped, so when they got up, the party continued.

We wanted the girls to open our present while there were big kids around who could teach them how it worked

Tunnel time!
Happy Happy First Birthday to our amazing daughters!

Motor Skills

Emily uses her fine motor skills to pick up one Cheerio at a time...Daddy took the grate apart that night and found 16!

Addison uses her gross motor skills to climb. She started by climbing in and out of the Radio Flyer wagon, then began trying to climb into drawers (which Mommy didn't let her do). Here she is after climbing into the walker.

Watch out Mommy, it's the dishwasher next!

Days with Cousin Callie

We love our days with Cousin Callie. Sometimes we go for walks, and the wagon is nice because there's room for three! On this day, we went for a walk to the park so we could swing.

On the way to the park, Callie walked and collected rocks
Swinging!

Sweet Girl

On the way home, all three girls got cozy in the wagon
