Zoo with Friends!

Last month, we went to the Denver zoo with the Rices. Our main goal was to make it to the tigers, as Rose, Dale, Emily and Addison all love the tigers. We had been reading the story Madeline a lot in our house, and when Madeline says "poo poo" to the tiger at the zoo, it always made us giggle, so we were ready to go be brave and say "poo poo" to our tiger.

Cute girls!
After lunch, we took a ride on the train. It was the first zoo train ride for Emily and Addison, and boy were they excited!
The friendly faces behind us!
Elizabeth was excited to ride the train!
All aboard?
Let's go!
Right before a dippin' dot treat
We had a great time talking to the apes and orangutans.

Last stop, The Cat House!
To the tiger at the zoo, Emily and Addie said "poo poo."

Emily and Addison did a great job taking turns in the front seat of the stroller so that Elizabeth could ride and nap in the back seat. After the tigers, though, we were all pretty tired, so we invented a third seat in our stroller.

Raspberries!

Our raspberry plants have multiplied this year. We got rid of our strawberries and let the raspberries take over one entire half of the garden. Last month we got tons of berries, visiting the garden daily to pick a treat.

Four Months Old!

Last month, Elizabeth turned four months old! Some of her new tricks were sitting in the bumbo for long stretches of time, rolling over from her tummy to her back, sucking on her hands a lot, and sticking out her tongue all the time. At her four month appointment, she weighed 12 pounds, 15 ounces!

Elizabeth is such a joy, and we are so blessed to have her as a daughter and sister!

Some Addie Cuteness

One day last month, Addie found some winter hand-me-downs in her closet, and decided to put them all on. She looked like a little puffalump, and even though it was a warm July day, she kept those four layers on for quite some time.

Addie also got to go to church with Dad  one Sunday, and the next day she set her babies up by her like this on the couch, put her arms around both of them, and said "church!"

Tummy Time!

From the start, Elizabeth has really enjoyed tummy time, or at least, she's tolerated it. Unlike the girls (remember this video?), being on her tummy has never caused lots of crying. Last month, she started getting more sustained tummy time and really started holding her head up for long periods of time.
7-7-13 (almost 4 months old)

On July 10th, I was taking pictures of Elizabeth having some tummy time, and Addie decided to join in on the fun.

Then I got Emily to join in, too.

And then Elizabeth impressed us all with her VERY FIRST ROLL! She went from her tummy to her back,  and I kept putting her back on her tummy and she just kept rolling right back over to her back.

The next day, Elizabeth showed off her tummy time skills to Dad.

Home Again Home Again Jiggety Jig

After coming home from Michigan, we treated ourselves to an afternoon at the pool.

Emily has continued her love of the water, and  has started putting her head underwater and "kick, kick, kick" swimming.

While Addie also loves the water, her favorite part of poolgoing always seems to be the eating.

Elizabeth did get in the pool, but then had some wonderful poolside napping.

Up North

Chris, Elizabeth, and I were able to spend a few days up north in the Traverse City area while Emily and Addison stayed with CeeCee and PopPop. Eric and Cathy were staying in Traverse City for a wedding, and we were able to tag along with them to have some relaxing fun on the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan.

There are some beautiful vineyards along a very scenic drive along the coast. We got to do some wine tasting while enjoying life with the windows rolled down.

Elizabeth got to dip her toes in Lake Michigan.

The second day we were up north was the Fourth of July, so Elizabeth got to wear her stars and stripes.
