Blue Skies Blue Park

February brought spring fever to Colorado. One warm weekend day we brought the kids and the tricycle to the blue park for some fun in the sun.

A Sunday Afternoon at the Park

The day after Rose's party, we took our lollipops and headed to EB Rains park, one of our favorites. We love this park because there's a lake, so there are always lots of geese and ducks to watch.

We walked one lap around the lake and then stopped at the playground to play for a bit. Emily needed to finish her lollipop before playing. I asked her if I could have a taste, and I bit it and a little chunk landed on the ground. This was her face after that accident:
Mommy broke my sucker. :(
Very shortly after, though, all tears were forgotten because we go to PLAY! There are two playgrounds at EB Rains, one for toddlers and one for big kids. Last summer, the girls were playing on the toddler playground. This time, though, they had no interest in the baby stuff and ran straight for the big kid structure!

Elizabeth was in her stroller most of the time, but she was so happy to just sit back and watch.

We made a stop at the toddler swings, where all three girls got to swing together!

Bye Bye park! We'll be back soon!

Elizabeth Swings!

After converting the cribs to big girl beds, we headed off to one of our favorite neighborhood parks, the "Blue Park" where Elizabeth got to try out the swing for the first time!

Spring Visits From CeeCee and PopPop

Every spring, Sue and Larry come out to Colorado to ski, and for the past few years, they have come out twice, usually once in February and once in late March. They were able to spend a lot of quality time with Emily and Addison during their visits this year.

The girls got to stay up in the mountains during the first ski trip

Emily's going to buckle Addie's boots for her so she can go skiing with Pop Pop and Daddy

Emily wants to try on the boots too!

When we got back home from the mountains, the girls took Pop Pop to see their favorite park

A swing session isn't complete without a little double time!

When Cee Cee and Pop Pop came out for their second visit, they brought Sesame Street friends for the girls
There was another fun excursion to our favorite neighborhood playground

This time, we tried the slides! Fun!

Pop Pop and Grandpa Hicks helped Dad cut down our dead aspen tree. Emily enjoyed the show while Addison rested inside with a stomach bug.

With baseball season starting up, the girls donned their Tigers garb
We decided to have an early Easter egg hunt in the front yard. The girls were interested in the eggs, and picked them up, but didn't explore much of the yard to find all the eggs, so we ended up bringing most of the eggs to them.
Emily found two eggs and immediately began tapping them together to make music

As most things do, Addison's eggs went right in her mouth
