Denver Art Museum

Mom's Group brought the kids to the Denver Art Museum. I had no idea there was so much for toddlers to do at the art museum! We'll definitely be going back!

ZOO!

Three day weekends with Dad can be lots of fun. If we treat the extra day off as a bonus, resisting the temptation to treat it as another weekend day which would mean filling it with chores and to-do lists, we're in for a real treat. President's Day was one of these wonderful bonus days, and we spent it at the zoo.

Before heading out, we needed to prepare.

In order to see the animals properly, we're going to need our binoculars. Let's test them out!

Dad made a pair of these special binoculars for each of the girls earlier in the weekend.

The day was going to be a chilly one, so we needed to pack our hats. Emily liked the look of Dad's hat. She also decided to put on a bib she found in the stack of new baby laundry I was doing the day before, along with a grocery bag she found in the hallway.

First up at the zoo...the BIG CATS! We saw baby lion cubs chasing each other around outside, and then we saw tigers and leopards inside.
The girls have really enjoyed roaring like wild animals lately, and they roared away at this tiger

Hello Giraffes!

A big portion of our time was spent in Tropical Discovery since it's nice and warm (and humid) inside. We saw countless fish along with turtles, frogs, snakes and lizards galore.

It's a lot of fun bringing the girls to the zoo now that they're old enough to spot and recognize the animals. We're looking forward to more trips as the weather gets nicer.

A Baby's Heartbeat

A friend loaned me her fetal heartbeat monitor and lately we've been bringing it out for some big sister entertainment. It's so fun to watch the girls faces when they listen to their baby sister.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The Rice's came over to play and craft on Valentine's Day this year. We had so much fun with our friends!
Auntie Wendy started things out right by wearing her stickers
Emily just needed to adjust this one here a bit
And then Addie started applying stickers as well
Rose is so happy to show off her Valentine
Dale has been hard at work
Next up: Make some Valentine's for the Sebring girls
Dale is quite the artist, and made sure to use every marker in the box

I just love the artwork that gets left behind on a paper-covered table

A little snippet of the crazy fun that happens when you get these four kids together!

Snack Time!

You know what's lots of fun? Eating snack at our play table, and when Baby can join us, it's even more fun!

After sharing bananas with Baby, she needed a little clean up!

Artwork, Babies, and Silly Faces

Emily has really been enjoying coloring lately, and is able to name most of her colors, although "lello" seems to be her current favorite, or maybe it's just the most fun to say.

Cullah cullah cullah
Addison will color for a little while, but loses interest quickly, which is never good because when she loses interest, she starts eating the crayons. After several crayons lost big bites, I told Addie to find something else to play. Not surprisingly, she decided it was time to feed one of her babies.
Does Baby want to eat in her high chair?
No? How about over here on the table?
Alright, we'll try over here
While I watched Addie find the perfect spot for Baby's meal, Emily was contentedly coloring...or was she?
Who me? Eat a crayon? I would never do such a thing!
After feeding Baby, it was time for a story and some snuggles.

When Emily needs a break, it's best to take it outside. On this beautiful February afternoon, Emily decided to drink melted snow from the deck chairs, resulting in this beautiful mustache. After a little bit of time in the sun, we went inside for a nice afternoon nap.
Nothing like deck chair water to wash down a blue crayon
This is the look of a girl who is beginning to zone out just before naptime
Addie still gets up from nap a bit earlier than Emily, and after waking up and snuggling a bit, she entertained me with some funny and sweet faces.

January Favorites

Mealtime Shenanigans

Addie had finished eating and was all cleaned up when she decided to start sneaking food off Emily's tray
This is Emily's "I just tooted!" face

Our Current Favorite Book: Knuffle Bunny

Addie often opens to this page, where Trixie is "helping" her daddy with laundry and just laughs and laughs

Kitchen Play

A new play kitchen and lots of play food and dishes brings lots of fun kitchen play to our days. Here the girls are pretending to pour water on their arms.
Emily is making a "shhhhhh" water pouring sound here
The pizza is Addie's favorite play food. You know she loves you if she serves you a slice!

Addie and Emily moved up to Big Girl Car Seats in January!

A Chilly Saturday Morning

After breakfast one Saturday, the girls begged and begged to go "side?"
Dad doesn't mind the cold, and went out with Emily to explore the yard in the morning chill
While Addie was initially very excited to take her baby for a walk outside, she quickly discovered it was pretty cold and began doubting her decision
Meanwhile, Emily was skipping merrily through the yard
Aaaand, she's ready to go back in

A Day with The Greats

Love For Baby Sister

We've been spending a lot of evening time cuddling on the couch these days, and this particular evening, Emily kept patting baby sister
