A Beautiful November Walk with Elizabeth

On a lovely warm day in November, after dropping the big girls off at school, Elizabeth and I headed down the cottonwood trail for some fresh air. The cottonwoods were in transition, so we had a bright yellow canopy above us with green all around us. 

We stopped along the path at the train conductor. Sometimes he has butterscotch candies in his hand, so Elizabeth was curious to see if he had any candies today.

This trail is one of my favorite places, and I feel so blessed that it's just a short walk from home. It was very special to spend some time along the trail with my sweet Elizabeth.

A Hike with Grandpa

We spent one of our days up at the Dome with Grandpa John, hiking among the mountain wildflowers. 

My little hair-twirler got her finger stuck on our drive up to Idaho Springs. I had to pull over at Genesee to help her out.

I couldn't stop looking at all the different colored flowers. My dad just kept pointing these little guys out. He seems to know the location of every little cactus on Mt. Pisgah.

Summer has begun, and with it a brand new schedule. Every Tuesday, the big girls are going to be attending Little Lights for a Summer Fun Morning. Today was our first Little Lights Tuesday, and Elizabeth and I had a wonderful morning together. She got to paint and then we went for a walk to our Cottonwood Tree so I could take some pictures. She's such a spunky little girl. She's pretty stubborn, so getting her to pose has always been a challenge. We had fun, though, and I think we ended up with some pretty cute pictures.

Happy Birthday Sweet Elizabeth Grace!!!

I cannot believe our baby Elizabeth has already been with us for two whole years. I've heard people say kids grow up in a blink, and I have truly experienced that feeling with Elizabeth. I feel like she was just born yesterday, and now here she stands before us, a little person with her very own unique and wonderful personality.

Elizabeth, we love your nose-crikled-eyes-sparkling smile. We love your head wiggles and shoulder shimmies. We love your long stories, even if we're only just beginning to understand bits of them. We love watching you keep up with your sisters, running with them, playing with them, reading with them, drawing with them. You make our hearts sing praises, and there have been so many moments in the last two years when I have declared you my saving Grace. 

You've completed our family, and we truly cherish you.
