Come With Us to the Garden, Cee Cee and Pop Pop!

Sue and Larry came to town for Elizabeth's baptism over Memorial Day weekend. Chris took a day off work and we all went to the Denver Botanic Gardens. We started out at the Mordecai Children's Garden, where the girls played in the stream to cool off before we had our picnic lunch.

Botanicals and Baby

Elizabeth and I went to a baby shower at the Denver Botanic Gardens last month. It was a beautiful day, so after enjoying tea with some lovely ladies, we let Dad have a bit more time with Big Sisters at home while we strolled the gardens together.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Springtime!

Oh how I love springtime with its warm days, green grass, budding flowers, and birdsong. Who better to share a spring day with than your best friends?

On a lovely May day, our friends Wenny, Dayo and Wose came over to play. Because the girls were wearing coordinating outfits from our annual Memorial Day shopping spree the year before, we just had to start the day out with a photo shoot.

After we'd gotten our fill of photos, it was time for some backyard pool fun. Dale volunteered  to fill up the pool, and demonstrated for me how he would spray the hose. (But not at anyone.)

Of course, it was also a must to put two slides in the pool.

Fun, fun, fun in the sun!

For us Mamas and Elizabeth, the fun was happening in the shade. This was a day full of laughter and much needed Mommy Friend time. 

The girls visited us in the shade here and there, but spent most of their time playing in the pool. Dale came up with some great games, and he's quite the leader of this pack.

 

 

What a fabulous day with friends! Each time we've gotten out the kiddie pool since then, it is immediately assumed that WennyDayoWose will be joining us. We can't wait for the next time, Rices!

Happy Mother's Day!

With a little help from Dad, Emily and Addison whipped up some waffles to go with our Mother's Day brunch. They were delicious!

Elizabeth helped by adding a little love to the batter.

I got this beautiful necklace from Chris and the girls, which I absolutely love.

And my favorite gift was this beautiful piece of handprint art. 

 

I got to sit back and relax on Mother's Day, I felt very loved!

Sister Love

In the two and a half months that we've had little Elizabeth here, we've been witness to a whole lot  of sister love. You can really feel the love when you're in the room with it, and I've attempted to capture some of it in pictures. It's hard to do because the love is so beautiful on so many levels, and a picture is just a two-dimensional snap of time. Nevertheless, here are a couple of my favorites...

 

Two Months Old

Elizabeth turned two months old on May 15th. Our grass was green after some rain and the evening was beautiful, so she had her photo shoot out in the backyard.

 

 

Then we came inside to do our chair and giraffe pose.

 

 

Elizabeth is incredibly strong, and holds her head up very well for her age. She enjoys being on her tummy, getting a chance to exercise her neck and back. She is such a little joy, bringing smiles to the faces all around her. When she isn't in the room, Emily and Addison immediately notice and ask where she is. She's started smiling, and it's just the greatest feeling when she smiles at me!
