Nicole, Jack, and Foster had us over for some backyard play, and oh boy was it fun! Emily and Addison love getting dirty, and Jack and Foster showed them the perfect spot under a great old tree for dirt digging and bug watching.

Addie finds one of the boy's sippy cups. Don't you know water always tastes best out of someone else's cup?
Mmmm, ice pops
The girls got bucket baths in the backyard after this stickiness! :)
Foster, what a cutie!

We took a trip up to the Sebring's so Chris could meet Vivian. Addison's love for babydolls deepened while she watched Claire taking such good care of hers, Emily had a blast playing pretend at the mini kitchen table, and Chris had fun holding baby Vivian.
We all need them once in awhile, and this summer, Emily and Addison's new shoes are teeny tiny Keens. Perfect for getting wet in the fountains or staying dry on the playground, we bought these even though their smallest size was still a bit big.
Here's Addie modeling her new shoes. She is eating one of Emily's because hers don't stay on as well yet (her feet are even teeny tinier than Addie's).
Emily can now say "hat" and she says it often because she likes to have a hat (or hat-like object) to put on her head. I recently got these adorable sunhats, and when they came in the mail we had to have us some hat fun!
Addison, quite the cutie
Emily, looking precious
I thought the hat was so cute I was taking a million pictures, and Emily started doing this "pre-flash squint"
Another new baby! The Sebrings welcomed little Vivian Grace on April 19th, and a few weeks later, the girls and I got to go up to Longmont for a visit!
Proud Mama
On our way to the Sebrings, we stopped to get lunch, and the girls got a little baby preview with this mama duck parading her ducklings through the parking lot.
We got to go out for a family dinner on the night of my birthday. We went to Rock Bottom, where we had celebrated my 31st. Last year, the girls slept most of the time in their stroller. This time they ate at the table with us!
Chris got me a birdbath, and without water, it's a great seat for the girls!
Presents! Chris gave me a locket with pictures of Emily and Addison
This year I turned 32, and I was lucky enough to spend my birthday with my two daughters and two of my grandparents. We went to Windsor Gardens for a visit, and had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Hicks. Grandma Nicoll has recently moved to a new apartment in the Belmar area, so we won't get to do any more combo visits, but we're looking forward to visiting her new apartment sometime soon.
Before leaving, I tried to convince the girls that this would be the perfect day to wear clips. I even gave them each an extra clip to hold in hopes of keeping the clips in their hair. Here is the one shot I got with clips in:
Emily practices her new pouty look. She'll give this look for a few seconds and then break into a huge grin.
Ritz crackers taste best served on Great Grandpa's lap
Grandma had the great idea to let the girls use one of the chairs as their table. They loved it!
The cousins used to love playing with the poker chips, and Grandma was right, the girls loved them too! And then Grandpa brought out the wacky singing and dancing chicken. Now that's some great entertainment!
