Last month the bumbo made its way up from the basement for Elizabeth to have her first go in the little seat. Emily and Addie were about the same age when they first tried out the seats. Flashback! It's so funny that I thought they looked so old at this age.

These Hands Can Hold!
At the beginning of the month, Elizabeth's reaching turned into grabbing. Her favorite animal in the jungle seems to be the giraffe, whose long legs are pretty fun to hold onto!

Sunday Morning
How would you like to have Sunday morning breakfast with this little dear?

And how about these two? As their hair has gotten longer, the bed head has gotten more and more amusing.
A Special Quilt for a Special Baby
Back in February, my mom and sister in law hosted a wonderful baby shower for me. It was a little different than the usual shower because there was crafting involved. My friend Wendy captured the day in pictures, and then posted those pictures on her blog, here.
Starting out with twenty-six letter squares made by good friends back in February, I told myself I would have the quilt finished by the time Elizabeth (back then going by "Olivia") turned three months old.
Well, at the very end of May, just two weeks before her three-month birthday, I did finish this quilt. On the first day of June, I took advantage of a chunk of time Chris was spending with the big girls to take a few pictures of the final product with its new owner.

| Elizabeth had just started smiling when I took these pictures, and I was so excited to capture this cute little smile. I also just noticed that this picture captures her with her initials, too! |

Thumbsucker
At one day old, Elizabeth amazed us all by sucking her thumb. She must have been practicing quite a bit in utero.

For the first few days of life, she was able to repeat this trick, but then lost it. Since then, she's been trying to find her hands, especially her thumbs. She's had success a handful of times, and always seems excited when she does. A couple weeks ago, she was sleeping in longer than usual, and when I went to check on her, I found out why. She'd managed to wiggle her hand up out of her swaddle wrap and that thumb was popped right in her mouth. There was quite a lot of smacking going on, and she was pretty happy with herself.
Sassy Pants
Emily is helping us all experience the emotional roller coaster known to most as the terrible twos.

RMNP
Are you excited, Elizabeth? We're going to the mountains!
We drove up Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park to show off the Colorado mountains to our Michigan guests. The views at the top were quite majestic.
Here were some views in our car...

After our mountain drive, we stopped in Estes for lunch, where Addison fell in love with the tiniest dog she'd ever seen.
