Purple Sisters

When the girls turned six months old, we took pictures in their precious purple outfits, but we couldn't get one shot of the two of them standing (not enough grown ups!) So one Sunday in September, we stopped at Aunt Britney and Uncle Dylan's house after church, and got some shots in their front yard.

Wrestling

The girls have begun wrestling as they have started moving around. Well, really Addison just attacks Emily. Depending on Emily's mood, this can be fun or devastating.

Lunch Downtown with Auntie Karen

We were able to enjoy lunch from the "lunch trucks" downtown with Auntie Karen last month. After lunch, we visited Grandpa Hicks at Network and met some of the famous Network guys, including Steve and Kevin. We were ooo'd and ahhhh'd over for quite some time, and got to see Grandpa Hicks' church! Then we went to a job site downtown where Uncle Dylan was working to see a beautiful fountain and newly renovated backyard.

A Trip to Evergreen

Over Labor Day weekend, we headed up to Evergreen to spend the afternoon in a small mountain town. We ate lunch at Beaujos, a pizza place with great gluten-free pizza, and then visited the many art galleries in town. We love three day weekends!

Sunday Afternoon at the Park

 What a lovely month September is. The weather is cooler, but everything is still green. We decided to spend a post-church Sunday afternoon at the park with a picnic. The temperature was perfect, and there were two bucket swings so Emily and Addison could swing side by side!

Enslea Turns Two!

Eyes

While taking an "Intro to Digital SLR Photography" class during the summer of 2010, I learned that when taking a portrait, it is important to use manual focus to focus on the subject's eyes. It's something I've been practicing, using Emily and Addison as my subjects. It's hard because they are constantly moving, but here are a few practice shots from the beginning of September.

Big Girls Sitting Up

Two days after Emily started sitting, Addison showed us that she was ready to sit on her own too! Here they are on September 4th, a Sunday morning, sitting in their pjs with bear and monkey.

Sweet Potatoes for our Sweet Potatoes

In the month since the girls tried their first rice cereal, they have sampled quite a few pureed delicacies, such as sweet potatoes, peas, butternut squash, pears, apples, and bananas. 

Here they are a few days after trying rice cereal for the first time, getting their first taste of sweet potatoes.

Children's Museum

Last month we took a trip to the Denver Children's Museum with some other twins and their mammas. There's a great baby play area, where all these little darling doubles got to meet and us moms got to hang out.

As the morning wore on, Addison decided she wasn't giving up her morning nap, so as the other babies played, she got comfy and slept!

More twins came to play, and still, Addison slept on!
