Great Grandpa Turns 90

On November 1st, Great Grandpa turned 90 years old! It's quite a big milestone, so of course the whole family needed to get together to celebrate!

On our way up to Great Grandma and Grandpa's building at Windsor Gardens, we asked the girls to hold hands to take some pictures in their party outfits.

Aunt Dale is the family photographer, and always does a great job of gathering the whole group for a tripod pic. Almost everyone was here for this big group picture. This family is growing and growing! Grandpa always says the legs of the octopus are multiplying.

And here's one of just the "John Hicks" branch of the tree.

And one of the Greats with 6 of their 8 great grandchildren!

Gunnison seems a little concerned about those sticks Emily's whipping around

After family photos, the great grandkids pointed out to the rest of us that it was a great day to play in the leaves.

Addie kept spinning around and around, gazing up into the autumn sky

So much fun!

Happy 90th, Grandpa! We look forward to celebrating more birthdays with you!

Greats

In October, we were able to spend some time with the Great Grandparents.

Great Grandma Nicoll came over with DeeDee one morning. The girls showed her all their dress up clothes and showed off their running, jumping, and tumbling skills.

Then one afternoon later in the month, we visited Great Grandma and Grandpa Hicks for some lunch and play time at Windsor Gardens.

No trip to GG's would be complete without a peek at the Swiss music box!

More Fall Fun

I put a bench out front this year with a pot of purple mums and some Halloween decorations, and it quickly became a favorite gathering spot for Emily and Addison. Every time we got out of the car, it was straight to the bench to say hello to their scarecrow friend and see if he'd like a bite of pumpkin.

Addie's getting ready to jump!

All smiles!

Emily's looking pensive

But some sunglasses will crack her up!

Leaf Collecting

After the leaves in the front yard had really accumulated and begun to get crunchy, we did some raking and the girls had fun playing in the piles.

 Happy Fall!

Fall Fun and Family Photos

Back in October, we met up with Dylan and Britney to take a walk along the cottonwood trail to enjoy the leaves and have Britney take a family photo. It was just the perfect day to be outside. The colors were so vibrant...the leaves a perfect bright yellow and the sky a deep autumn blue.

We started out getting a few shots of the sisters by one of our favorite big trees.

Then Emily found a branch, and Dad taught the girls how to fence.

Thank you, Britney, for capturing these great family photos!

After the photo session, it was time for a walk to the playground.
Cal was still waking up from her nap in the car
Dad pulled the girls in their wagon

Swinging on the big girl swing!

Uncle Dylan's good at pushing!

Emily found the perfect monkey bar.

Addison wanted to get as close as possible to baby Annalea.

What a beautiful day!
